
Dr. Knowlden began his journey with the University of Alabama and the Department of Health Science in August 2013. Among many accomplishments during his 7 years with the department, Dr. Knowlden recently received a National Institutes of Health grant in the amount of $800,000 to conduct a leading-edge study that will investigate the relationship between obesity and sleep and their role in developing cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease and stroke.
