Note: If you are planning to pursue an allied health graduate program (e.g., medicine, dentistry, optometry, physician assistance, physical therapy), you should visit http://prehealth.ua.edu for more information. Students can make an appointment with a prehealth advisor at http://as.ua.edu/appointment.
Note: No advising/registration holds are placed on student accounts by your advisor.
Review your transcript and planner in Degree Works to determine which courses to take the next semester. Please use the pre-loaded plan in Degree Works (located under “Student” tab in myBama) if no plan has been established.
Using the myBama course listings, plan a draft schedule of classes, as well as alternate courses with Schedule Builder, which is found under the "Student" tab in myBama. You must have a draft schedule before meeting with an advisor.
If necessary, make an appointment with an advisor via email – not phone. In the email, you must include several days/times you can meet with your advisor. If you do not provide your availability in the email, you will not receive a response to your email request for an appointment.
Bring the draft schedule to your advising appointment.
Note: If possible, please schedule individual advising sessions during normal advising periods each semester. Official advising dates are March 6th - 10th and March 20th - 24th. Course registration begins March 27th.
